About Jennifer
Jen Hurwitz was born and raised in Montana, earned a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University-Bozeman in 2006 and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). She has provided outpatient counseling to individuals of all ages, couples and groups in: military installations, community mental health centers, schools, and private practice. Jen believes asking for help is one of the most courageous things a person can do and is honored to be a supportive guide for people toward living the life they want to live.
In addition to using a variety of talk therapy modalities, she also completed a three-year training in Somatic Experiencing® (SE). SE recognizes that trauma gets trapped in the body, causing nervous system dysfunction that prevents people from fully processing their experiences. As a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP), Jen teaches clients how to regulate their nervous systems to better manage stress and trauma in their bodies for long term healing.
When she is not in the office, Jen can be found with her husband and their daughter on the ranch, traveling, enjoying music, recreating, or cooking. Jen can be reached at 406.547.3888 or through her website: wipmt.com.
